It is true that there might be some prostitutes in this area. However they are very reare to be seen. Personally I have been living many years in Bergen, and have seen prostitutes there only a few times.
I disagree that this is a large problem in Bergen. As a 3rd. I used to live in that area before and if i was walking alone you could be sure to get at least one confrontation by one of the girls. If you stay outside of these areas prostitution is not a large problems and people should generally stay away from these areas. That depends Allmost right next to the fish market just a street away, and the famous blue rock. This area is always a bit crowded, because of that fact, and because the area is packed with pubs and nightclubs.
